This patient in her early 50’s had subpectoral textured implants placed 15 years prior (350 cc’s). She chose to have them removed for health reasons. She is just over 5 foot tall and about 145 pounds. For her explant procedure, she had an EN BLOC CAPSULECTOMY (entire capsule and implant removed in one piece) followed by a MASTOPEXY (breast lift). Because this patient had a good amount of breast tissue, she retained a good full C cup size after her surgery. She did not need or want any fat transfer to her breasts. Her breast lift consisted of a WISE pattern scar (circumareolar, vertical and inframammary) which is often necessary to reduce the skin envelope so the remaining breast tissue is not saggy. She is happy with her smaller, more youthful breasts, and has benefitted both emotionally and physically after her implant removal.
