Introduction to Restylane Fillers

Restylane® is used to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and folds around the nose, mouth, and surrounding areas. Restylane® is an injectable filler made of hyaluronic acid. Restylane® combats wrinkles and fine lines by “filling in” your facial imperfections, and is ideal for lip augmentation and non-surgical nose jobs to camouflage nasal deformities. Restylane® results may last up to six months and are most effective when frequently reapplied.

Restylane® products are cosmetic dermal fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).

Dr. Pautler performs non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as a liquid nose job uses dermal fillers to improve the aesthetic appearance of the nose and harmony between facial features.

Dr. Pautler uses Restylane® in all facial areas and lips. It is her preferred filler for the delicate lower eyelid area near the nose called the “tear tough”. Perlane® is a slightly thicker product ideal for the lower face and to fill lips.

About Restylane®

Restylane® and Perlane® are made of hyaluronic acid. In the human body, natural hyaluronic acid provides volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® and Perlane® has been modified slightly to last longer than the body’s hyaluronic acid. Restylane® and Perlane® contain no animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions. No allergy testing is required before use.

Restylane® and Perlane® are FDA-approved for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane® has been used in over 70 countries and in more than 1.4 million treatments in the U.S. Perlane® has been used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons worldwide since 2000. It is not unusual for Dr. Pautler to use all three filler types (Radiesse®, Restylane®, and Juvéderm™) in a single patient to target different wrinkles, folds, or volume depleted areas. In addition, BOTOX® can enhance with careful selection of muscle relaxation. Although not a substitute for surgery, fillers and BOTOX® can give wonderful results that are easy to maintain. They can complement any surgical procedure as well. Many patients start with fillers and BOTOX® in their mid thirties, and increase their usage in small incremements to powerfully maintain a more youthful refreshed appearance as they grow older (but don’t look it!). Combined with excellent skin care, lots of sleep, avoidance of sun, and lots of water, fillers and BOTOX® are extremely effective anti-aging nonsurgical ways to keep you looking your best!

Collagen injections are used to enhance the lips; to camouflage wrinkles and scars of the cheeks, chin, and mouth; and to soften nasolabial folds. These in-office nonsurgical procedures are quick, with virtually no downtime, and require a topical and/or local anesthetic. Sometimes a skin test is needed prior to the injection of collagen to screen for any allergy to the product.

Here’s what our clients have to say

"Dr. Pautler is an amazing person. I wanted to have a breast augmentation but was nervous. She took the time to fully explain everything to me. I never felt as if a question was stupid or not worth her time. I quickly realized that I had found the right doctor. My surgery went very well, thanks to the expert hands of Dr. Pautler. The first few days of my recovery were as expected. Then I noticed that my incisions were becoming increasingly itchy. On a Saturday morning, I called the number Dr. Pautler had given me. A little while later, she met me in her office. I was having a rare allergic reaction to the adhesive. She was able to treat me and told me to come into the office on Monday. I was very grateful for this weekend visit with her. Much to my surprise, I got a phone call the next day, from Dr. Pautler. It was a Sunday! She was calling to see how I was feeling. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I wish more doctors were as caring and as compassionate as her.”
